The science side of manifesting

it relates to startups, I swear!

Maybe you love vision boards, maybe the concept of pushing the universe to make things happen is foreign to you.

Either way, since the truth doesn’t require belief to exist — I present you the not woo-woo side of manifesting your wishes.

There’s an old joke about a man praying to win the lottery. After months of praying, god speaks to him and says “buy a lottery ticket first, you idiot!”

Manifestation as a practice is not just ‘asking the universe to provide’ — it’s also taking concrete physical steps in the direction of the goal.

Many of those steps have already been taken in the past. When we don’t see the correlation to our current actions, we assume it was ‘just luck’ — when it was compounded expertise.

Another effect of any variation on manifestation vision boards is the frequency illusion. We notice that which we focus on. Manifesting opportunities is noticing the opportunities and acting on them.

You didn’t see those opportunities before because your brain unhelpfully didn’t pass the signals to your consciousness. Once you reconfigured the filters — they became visible.

So how does this relate to startups?

If you think about building one of your app ideas, but avoid taking any steps in that direction because that shit is complicated and you’re busy,

If having an independent income-generating asset sounds scarousing, so you make out with the idea but never go all the way,

Then just planning the build and launch of the first minimal version — no building-strings attached — will turn on the magic of manifestation.

Some of it because lots of the unknowns become known. Some of it because when you know exactly which opportunities to look for — it’s so much easier to spot them.

If you’re waiting for a sign to take the first step and the permission to stop after that — this is it ✨
